The Summit 2010 Nat'l Shorthorn Sale

   DTR Tafetta 850 - A November, Shorthorn Plus heifer sired by LGS Blue Pride.  This blue roan female has a bright future ahead of her. The Tafetta cow family has been very productive at Deer Trail, and she has already shown to be very competitive in the show ring having won her class at the 2009 Iowa State Fair Pace Show and being second in her class at the 2009 NAILE Pace Show. She is very easy-keeping, has great hair, and will be hard to beat as a bred next fall. This late November female will be ready to breed by the time of the sale to the bull of your choice.

  DTR Ruby 909 - (We hope to get a picture of Ruby 909 if the weather cooperates!)  A May female that stems from the same cow family as LGS Ruby 522 (pictured) that was an all-american in 2006. This female has the potential to be just as popular in the showring, but where she will really make an  impact is as a donor female in your herd. This cow family has consistently produced over 20 eggs per flush.

 Bright Lights 2010 Maine-Anjou Sale

DTR Playmate 902 - A Maine heifer sired by HAA Smart Money 316S.  Playmate goes back to 1H of Fred DeRouchey's. She also has Legacy Plus and Meyer 734 in her pedigree. This female is also one of the first to be offered by her sire HAA Smart Money, the two-time Denver Champion. Her EPD's for WW, YW, M&G are in the top 25% of the breed. If you are looking for a show heifer, this female aslo has great hair. Playmate is entered into the Denver National Hill Show.  Playmate is out of a first calf heifer.

 DTR Esther 903 - A HAA Smart Money 316S heifer that can be dual      registered Maine and Chi. Her dam is a double bred Eshter, and she has draftpick in her pedigree as well. This female is also one of the first calves to be offered at auction by her sire, Smart Money. Esther's EPD's for WW, YW, and M&G are in the top 25 % of the breed. Esther is entered in the Denver National Hill Show.

  DTR Power Plus 904W - A bull calf sired by Power Plus that can be dual registered Shorthorn Plus and Maine.  If you are looking for a sire that will raise low birthweight calves and heavy milking females, then this bull is for you - he goes back to Legacy Plus and has a great Shorthorn base. The Clara cow family has raised many winners including his granddam, which won the 2000 Denver National Junior Shorthorn Show. He is entered in the Denver National Hill Show.
